More please

Frankie doesn't think there's been enough Binzer on the blog and that the situation needs rectifying, STAT. Those little ears on one side just make me want to put a pink scrunchy on them for a little bunny side pony tail.
It's not her best side, no ears. Binzer loves her leafy greens, served up on a little Japanese bunny plate. Lets be serious, who wouldn't? And when they're gone, she sits on her plate and demands more.
New this week in the garden, return of my friends The Lizards. I think this little guy is related to this guy. I've been watching since the weather warmed up for their return.

I feel happy people, what about you? Have a great day.

Birthday Greetings

Good morning peoples! Hope its going good your way! It's another lovely spring day here, sunny, warm, a perfect morning for coffee and a magazine on the swing out back.
But before I head out there with my cup of delicious coffee, I want to send Birthday Wishes to my friend Thelma. I don't know if she still checks in here, but I wanted her to know I was thinking of her on her special day.

Have a super one peeps!

How Green Was My Valley?

Ok, sorry, that was pretty lame. But I have to admit, every time I come into Livermore down off a hill I think of that. Anyway, not too green right now. Did I not notice how green it got this winter, or did it just not get as green as I remember?

Frankie had Bret's little car up until this weekend's car switch, so we took it out for a ride yesterday afternoon. Too hot really, for me anyway. I need to cover my whole head as my dark hair just soaks up the sun and my head gets so stinken hot my brain fries. Consequently I actually type things like How Green Was My Valley instead of leaving them in my head where they belong.

Its nice living in the country, or sort of country, as you can see things like this. Fresh and grown without pesticides.

Here's a bit of Del Valle Reservoir, it looks pretty full from this view.

This was interesting. This row of horses is tied up along the fence at Wente's Tasting Room.

Man it is the country.

Ok Peeps, what did you do this weekend?

Things I love

I love yard art. Seriously.

Giant Crazy Yard Art.

Not like I'm putting a giant snail in my front yard.

As you can tell I'm really low on interesting content for you. No good sewing to share, I mean I've been working on some really good projects, just not sharable. Hopefully Elizabeth will share this darling quilt soon, I'm doing the ditch quilting on it.. or rather, should be in there doing the ditch quilting. But here I sit. With my coffee. And do you see what time it is. Good grief.

Ok my sweet pixies... you guys have a good weekend. Tell me all about what you have planned.

Getting to Know You

Yesterday I went to visit Frankie and meet her new bunny, Bunnicula Bunford, aka Binzer. She's a silly thing. The bunny that is.

Yeah, right, listen to us.

No Kidding

Check this out. Seriously, what kind of amazing news is this? I guess maybe I can have my buttery yellow dots on white after all. And not on 8 1/2 by 11 inch sheets of Printed Treasures fabric either. (not that that's bad in any way shape or form) Thanks to Hilary at Wee Wonderfuls for cluing us to this news. I'll also be watching this blog, its all about fabric.

Wow, glad I got up early! Hope you all have a happy Sunday!

Snowball

The weather here this weekend is much more normal for this time of year, cool, slightly overcast. Last weekend's 90 degree weather really took a toll on the yard. My poor little cherry tree's blooms are withered and brown. So disappointing. The snowball bush was rushed into white blooms with the heat. Many are singed around the edges but not so much you can't just get caught up in their beauty. I could eat them they look so good.

Whipped creamy good. I plan on planting another snowball this year, I can't resist them, their pretty white flowers and green cool foliage. In the fall they put on a pretty fall color display and then bare their branches for the winter.

What's up with you guys this weekend? I am doing a little stunt sewing and then some yard work. The weather is perfect for it, not too hot. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

I'm still sewing

Phew people, after those two days of 90 degree weather it's back to normal around here. Wow is all I can say, got in the car Monday morning and it was 58 degrees. That's way more like it for an April morning.
Been catching up on things around here, a little house stuff, a little sewing, a little paperwork. The market busy-ness will trickle down my way again soon, so I try not to get too involved in anything I won't mind putting aside for a while. Market is officially a month away.

More Flight of Fancy..

So what are you up to people? I know Amy is drinking coffee, Monica is waiting for a special delivery, Anne is celebrating a friend's birthday, Brenda is printing her book, Nicole is organizing, this girl has her feet up, and some one special is having a birthday. Tell me all about your doings!

Field Trip

Friday was a great, the weather was perfect. Low 80's. We cruised over to check out the new quilt shop in Clayton, not yet open. It's called Donna's Quilt Loft I believe and it opens on the 16th. If you go, let me know how it is. I probably won't be over that way again for a while.
We went to Thimblecreek and found some goodies. And we found a little Bunny.

And some bunny friends.

I wish I had taken the time to see who was the designer of that cute quilt. If you know, leave a comment for us!

Our friend is totally represented! She's got a new book coming, can't wait.

More local peeps.

And some Sandy..

Thimblecreek has some amazing samples. The place was crammed with beautiful quilts.

Bought a few pieces.. Love how the pink and aqua looks together. Also picked up some green that I love and had used up,. These look so pretty on chenille. It was a good day now back to the grindstone.

Sunday Sunday

Friday we had the most perfect weather. Low eighties, lovely. Put the cushion back on the swing in the afternoon, poured some iced tea and looked at my Marie Claire Idees. Really people, it doesn't get any better than that.
Here's some of what's new around the yard. It all seems so pretty and cool looking. Saturday brought us some mid-ninety degree temps, which I totally do not appreciate. It made for hot sweaty yard work.

First iceberg rose.

I love my little cherry tree and could take a thousand photos of it's blooms. Here's just one.

One of a very few apricots on my tree. The tree is old, been here since Bret moved in about twenty five years ago. The tree is probably half dead, but still it puts forth the effort. I bet this little apricot won't last more than another week. The greedy squirrels will eat them all in this state and not wait till they reach their beautiful ripeness.

Can you believe how blue the sky is? No photoshopping people. I haven't seen such a glorious blue sky in so long.

Count on more gardeny photos, my tree is only half filled with blooms and my snowball is covered in lime green flowers, soon to be white. I love that bush.

Happy Sunday peoples.

p.s. Was I the last to know Marianne Fons had a blog?

Some of this and some of that

It hasn't been all fun and games here at the Pamkitty household. Well, actually, yes it has and I have the dust bunnies to prove it. I'm going to refrain from showing those, you'll just have to imagine those little whimsical details on your own time. I did a little piecing on my quilt from Dee's pattern, then Alex called with some machine quilting that needed doing. What's a Celeb Stunt Sew-er to do when her celeb calls? Get over there!

I love my machine and its pretty pretty uniform stitches.
Can't show the front, its a piece for next year's book. (I know, how crazy is that??)

Here's how far I am now. Pretty huh? I love that Mary E. fabric. But for now, back to the machine quilting. Grids I could do all day with my NCIS tape playing in the background, but borders are another story.

And those pretzels from the last post.. yeah, I think I'll be limiting my trips to Pleasanton to get them, you can't just eat one... bag that is.

Well....

Why was I not informed about these sooner?

Day Off

Last week Bret took a day off for an outing. He's been wanting to go up to the foothills for a while, and it seemed the perfect time with all this nice spring weather. And extra nice during the week when the traffic and peoples are at a minimum. This is the actual creek. When I told Frankie about going she remembered seeing snakes and frogs in the creek, we would stand on that bridge there and look down at the water passing. Sometimes we'd bring a picnic and up the other direction there were places to sit and watch the water go by.

First stop Water Street Antiques . It's a fun place to look even if you don't find anything. We haven't been in ages, and now they've got a warehouse full of new things as well.

Sutter Creek is a beautiful town. The old historic area has a lot of lovely old houses. Many people were out working in their yards or there would be way more pictures of darling houses to share.

After Sutter Creek we headed over to Amador City, a few miles down Highway 49. There is a little shop there, Country Living, that is completely darling. Been there for THIRTY THREE YEARS! This is Sandy the owner. Super sweet, she let me take some photos. I was so happy to see it.. I've shopped there many a time.

Here's Bret enjoying his lunch of fancy pizza at the little bakery in Amador City. I had a cup of coffee and a piece of walnut shortbread. Lunch of champions.

We took a leisurely drive from there through frog jump country, stopping in Angel's Camp and Murphy's. On the way out of town we saw this sign, and it really really really cracked me up.

Have a super day peoples. xo

Copy Catter Dirty Ratter

Yup, I'm that rat, I've copy catted some fabric purchased of a fellow blogger. I can't help it man, she finds the coolest stuff.
My table is a wreck, but I need to sweep it all aside for some emergency market sewing. Be back soon with an update on my cute Mary E. quilt. Hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend. xo

Here's something you don't see everyday.

There's a reason for it.

The thermostat at Chevy's.. only to be touched by management

**edited to add... for those of you who don't regularly follow the adventures of Elizabeth and Pam, I'm the driver. Cool, calm, collected. When she drives, she is Born to Be Wild.

Never satisfied

Nope, I just never can be satisfied with what I already own. Why do I bother to buy fabric and squirrel it away? I had that apple fabric sitting on my sewing table for too long. I was over it. Needed a bit more of something else, so I grabbed Elizabeth and we dashed to Quilter's Inn for a little piece of something. Not what I intended but when I saw this Mary Engelbreit fabric I decided it would be great for Dee's pattern.

The shop was buzzing full of people and projects on the table, and old friends, lots of old friends. It was great. Back home I got to cutting. Stay tuned, I'm on a roll.
