Work in Progress

It has been a while.. quite a while, since Lizzy sent me the fat quarter bundle of her wonderful fabric, Red Letter Day. Honestly I was totally flattered that she wanted me to work with her new line. But then totally intimidated by the fact that I'm really not very hip and this is a hip line. Lizzy is so cool and arty, you know official art school arty, and I'm a mom covered in thread sitting at home in mom-clothes. So I've had this pile looking at me for a while, and finally today I made my pattern piece and I CUT INTO IT. Trying to find a way into making something me but something cool too. Kid-cool. Not mom-cool. Its really a stretch.
I'll let you know.

Now don't underestimate your coolness!! I for one am on a mission to make my "mom outfits" the "new cool" ...... I even think my elastic waist stretch pants, mom jeans, and mom sneakers will be the next big thing on Project Runway ! ..... I even think I'll be seeing more moms showing up at the bus stop in my "Mom Bus Stop Outfit " which includes my pj's , my husbands work boots because they're next to the door, and any old sweat shirt I can throw on over my jammies .....

Anyhow .... I'm absolutely sure you won't let us moms down and you'll come up with a VERY COOL project !!!!

You're so cool - the coolest of cool. If People mag did a Coolest People Alive issue... you'd be on the cover. For real cover, not a photochopped one.

Can't wait to see what you do with Lizzy's crazy cute fabric!

It's always a good exercise to work outside one's comfort level, right? Well, maybe not ALWAYS...but once in a while :-) It'll be great, I just know it!

My idea of working outside my comfort level is getting strawberries on my cheesecake rather than plain. I am in such a rut! I always gravitate to the same type of fabrics.

However, one time I signed up for an applique technique class. The fabrics were furnished and to a person we all complained that we NEVER sew with THOSE types of prints. Way too loud. By the end of the class we were all in love with the brightness. Just goes to show.

So if anyone can find a way to make something cool out of the fabrics it would be Ms. PamKittyMorningCoolHerself!!! You go girl!!!

Quick. Show me what to do with that group so I can buy some before it's sold out everywhere. I'll have to order online though. Nobody here is that cool either...
