Worst Neighbors Ever

Ha! You probably thought this was going to be about some bad neighbors, but no! It's US!!! We're the bad neighbors. We have a large fruitless mulberry tree in our front yard. It's huge and covered in leaves that take MONTHS TO FALL. We're really bad about keeping up with the leaves too. Anyway, yesterday I went out to rake up the front yard, mostly cleaning up the sidewalk, street and Alice-Jane's yard. She's sweet and doesn't complain but a good portion of our leaves end up caught up in her shrubs out front.

I raked up the street, AJ's yard and part of mine, all into neat little piles, and the proceeded to fill the green can to the top. With a fraction of the leaves.

I don't want to complain too much though, it was shirt sleeves weather out.

So what did you do?

p.s. Strawberry Patches is having a PKM giveaway, head over there and check it out!

Thank goodness it does not have fruit! We have sixteen flowering plums and they have pecan size plums that the birds love to eat and leave everywhere! But, on the plus side, when they lose their blooms it looks like pink snow.

Oh-ho... this tree is mocking you! It's deliberately forcing your hand and shaming you. My kitchen floor does the same thing. No matter how (in)frequently I clean it, it is still littered with detritus. We are not the 'bad' neighbors, the domestically challenged... we are the victims of a natural hoax. Bravely, we carry on!

My yard had been raked and mowed on Monday by my son and right now the wind is blowing and well, it doesn't look like he did thing...the compost pile will be happy!

For a moment I thought the video was taken in my front yard. We have the same tree and I said to a neighbor as I raked on Sunday afternoon, "I don't want to be called the bad neighbor so I have to rake these up before the are all over your lawn." My daughter asked, "Why are you raking them doesn't the gardener come tomorrow?" my reply,"Yes, but it will look the same tomorrow." Good luck, we have strong wind forecasts for the next couple of days.

We have a liquid amber tree that does the same thing. There are still so many leaves left on the tree. I guess they'll be on the ground soon enough with the strong winds that are forecasted for later today.

My neighbors and I all trade leaves in the fall!! Not too bad, but I do remember my fruitless mullberry days. Yuck! You should drive down my daughter's street in Modesto. The large trees make an arch over the road and there are times you cannot see the lawns or street from the leaves. Beautiful!

Hopefully your neighbor was home in time to see her cleaned up yard before it filled with leaves again!

Those leaves are wicked! We have a leaf problem too. But at our house the wind gusts so strong I have no idea where some of them end up. (shh don't tell but I don't really care)

Oh my, it's snowing leaves. Our old house had that same problem with the liquid amber trees. 8 garbage bags of leaves sometimes. It's so windy here in Nevada the leaves will blow to the next town & I won't have to worry about them.
