Bloggers Block-December

So peeps, are you keeping up with the Blogger's Block of the Month? We're just on block 4, so if you haven't started there's still time to catch up. I'm making myself make the block as soon as possible after it's posted, and Pat posted her block yesterday, so I got busy. Click over to her post for instructions.

One thing that I forgot about till I started looking at my block, Jackie had requested that we use one piece for sure in each block. I think that makes for a unifying set of blocks. Of course we're 4 months in and I notice that I haven't done that. I haven't even used one color in all the blocks. Of course not too late to remake some blocks. I need to think about this a bit.

So people, are you making one or two blocks of each month? I notice some people are making two. Not to beat a dead horse (sorry, poor choice of words Rocky) but should I be making 2 each month? PEOPLE TELL ME WHAT TO DO. Suddenly I hate my blocks. No I don't. AHHH. I don't like that this month I didn't use a third fabric for my triangles. Geez, sometimes I can't make up my mind.

Now don't get me started on the wonkiness. And the little ripple up at the top. Worst enemy=me.

Ok, seriously, I'm almost over it.

Have a good day! xo

Your blocks look just fine. I would not worry about using one fabric through each block. Lots of quilts are made with no repeat of a fabric. Just my thought!

Two would be good. Then you can choose your favorites at the end or make a big quilt or two little ones.

I think your blocks are just fine. I do like the repetitive colors in the first three. Maybe #4 could use some red or blue. What do I know. I just cut the stuff (never seem to find a moment to sew lately and just live it through creative peeps like you). Speaking of cutting...oh my! Are your ears burning? Creative fingers itching? Toes twitching? They should be because yesterday was a PAMKITTY MORNING ALL DAY LONG!!! We had piles of your delious fabric on the cutting table cutting kits and then, of course, customers saw how scrumptious it all looked and wanted some and well, you know, it was just crazyness!

If I don't get back here before the New Year, Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to an even brighter 2012!

I think they all look great. It seems a bit early to be freaking out about the fabric choices. But then, it does provide something to obsess over which keeps one from getting into too much other trouble.

Have a good day!

Oh my gosh you make me laugh. They remind me of Farmer's Wife blocks. They are perfect. Really.

I'm just making one Block for this BOM. I have used the Block #2 Star pattern in Civil War R,W & B to send to a Wounded Soldiers effort and one to go with my CW sampler. I don't see anything wrong with your colors!

I still have to make block 3. I got a little off track with Christmas projects - oops. I'll catch up soon. I've been wondering the same thing about making more that one of each (what to do?!?!?). Love your blocks! Mine are ok so far. I have been using different neutrals for the "backgrounds" on mine. I hope it works out ok since it is a bit of a mystery on what their final layout will be.

I'm with you. Should I make one or 2 blocks each month? I'm leaning towards making 2 because a 12 block quilt seems so small.
I normally can make a Mystery quilt just fine, but this one has me pondering.

I love ur blocks as is. I think you should consider them done & move on to the nxt required block. Sometimes I have the same immediate thinking when I participate in a blog ~ I question my fabric selection & often my construction but I have learned to set them aside as completed & move on to next block. When all necessary blocks are completed & I bring them back out to assemble somehow they all look good to me! Someimes you just need a little time to reconsider especially if you want to move on to the next project! Happy New Year to you! Penny in SoCA
