Gloom

There's a lot of gloom around here, fortunately no doom though, so I'm good with it. We had a rainy day yesterday, and that makes for a nice sew day. Didn't spend much sewing, but I do have these two lovelies, in all their badly lit glory.

I really enjoy seeing all the granny squares popping up in my Pinterest feed. So many wonderful colors, and I love the different 'rules' that people are setting for the their blocks. Rules probably isn't the right word, but I think if you look at the setups people are using you'll see how different they can look just based on the way color is used in the blocks. I really love them.

I think once I have 16, I will sash them and finish this off. It's been a fun bite sized project that I've enjoyed. I wonder what will be next?

Playing with fabric is the best solution to the Gloom. And those tiny Granny Squares are just the thing for some fabric therapy.

I'm afraid of what you're going to be into next. I keep getting sidetracked by your fun little projects. :)

Your blocks are wonderful! I wish it would rain here...I can't even remember the last time I got to sew in the rain! I'm going to put my Granny Squares together when I have 16, too!

They are darling. I love them. Makes me want to make more myself. Sun is shining here today. Usually we get a nice first part of March and it leaves really crappy into April.

I know what you mean by the color placement changing things. I decided that I like the darker on the outer ring and something bright in the center. I decided this after making them several different ways though so I have a lot more to make to get to 18 which is my magic number. I am going to make 2 table toppers using 9 blocks in each. This was a really fun distraction.

I know what you mean. I have seen so many on Pinterst too. Still love yours the best though. I'm hoping to use some of my PKM for a small Granny Square quilt.
It's supposed to rain the end of week here...maybe I'll get some sewing time too.
Bogged down in taxes right now.

I love your blocks. I think I've been living under a rock and didn't know about the Granny Square block excitement. I think you just got me hooked. I blame you for sidetracking me :-)

I am workign on some of those two, but only when I need a quickie at the machine. I am using left over hungry caterpillar fabrics for mine and will donate to Seattle Childrens' Hospital if/when I decide it's done. I have about 7 blocks now (I do 2 at a time, but I guess I did 3 at once one time)

I am working on MY Christmas quilt....you know....just in time to have the top done and on my bed.....for Easter! =)

Love your blocks. I've been bitten by the Granny Square bug too. I've made about 28 total in two different group of fabrics. I just can't stop making them! LOL I'm using charm packs to cut my squares since I have so many. I need to be quilting some quilt tops but I'm known to start more projects than I finish. I'm bad that way! :( I need some one to crack a whip on me to get my quilt tops quilted! LOL
